Jamak’s “Center for Design, Development and Testing” Celebrating over 20 years of success!

2010 will begin yet another decade of success through innovation…

In 1988 Jamak opened the doors of our Center for Design, Development and Testing (CDDT). Since then we have developed many first to market innovations, process automation programs, and integrated them into production, and onto the market.

Many of these programs originate from internally stimulated new product ideas, and innovative processing concepts, while others are initiated from external source inputs. Our Customers, Our Suppliers, Independent Inventors and the various market demands of today have provided the stimulus for our many successful first to market projects.

Jamak began the development of our patented silicone windshield wiper program during the first year of opening the center. These products are now being sold under top automotive retail brands, such as Armor All®, Havoline® and the perennial “Tripledge®” brand “the consumer’s favorite wiper blade with the lifetime guarantee.” This program began with one of our major raw material suppliers co-funding the development costs and providing technical assistance as needed. Upon success, Jamak fully reciprocated with the supplier through long term material contracts and royalties.

Our customers have requested unique and sometimes daring enhancements be made to existing products that improve the life, reliability and overall function of their products. The CDDT allows Jamak and our customers the ability to develop and test in an environment that can simulate real world, real time results. Customers have experienced increased market share based on new and enhanced features and benefit improvements made for their products.

A few of these innovations include;

• Color coded neo-natal silicone catheter products for drug delivery and nutrition feeding devices that improve patient health and safety for new born baby’s

• Ultra-Low out-gassing formulations for outdoor / high intensity lighting gasket applications for better night time visibility – long term

• Complex molded shapes and material development programs providing life like feel, and appearance characteristics - for human body emergency simulation training mannequins

• Hand therapy products have been developed that provide for unsupervised therapist delivery of treatment to patients, that can also be formulated to provide additional benefits of heat therapy with Jamak’s patented Therapy Putty.

• Ultra Low - Oxygen Transmission Rate (OTR) at < 0.02 ml/ml2/unit/*day silicone products are now available through Jamak. Our first patented application will soon be launched in a product that will help to further reduce the global dependency on petroleum products and natural resources.

• Jamak has developed Dairy products that outlast current market products by 3 or more multiples of milking cycle counts, resulting in various reductions on overall milk production cost while providing other health benefits to the cow.

Results of the many programs originating and orchestrated through the Jamak CDDT represent over 60% of Jamak’s annual production revenue generation today. Jamak will continue to task ourselves in seeking out innovations, asking questions of our customers about their needs, and more importantly – keeping our minds open for opportunities that will represent our next decade of products!
